Robin van Persie has been highly respected for his services to the Netherlands national team.
The Dutch striker won his 100th cap when he featured in the final minutes of a 2–1 away victory over Kazakhstan in Euro 2016 qualifying last October.
And the former Manchester United and Arsenal man has taken to Instagram to flaunt the awards he has been presented with for reaching the milestone of 100th commemoration cap.
“I am more than happy to have received the UEFA 100th commemoration cap, the KNVB golden plate and the UEFA 100 Club medal at home,” Van Persie captioned the images.
“I am proud I had the opportunity to be able to receive this. It has been a milestone in my career. Thank you KNVB, UEFA, FIFA for organizing great matches and amazing tournaments and to all of those who have been there and who have been supporting me along the way.”
The Fenerbahce in-form striker, who happens to be the eighth man from Netherlands to manage a century of caps, is his country’s all-time leading goal scorer with 50 goals to his name
Regardless of never having won international silverware, Van Persie noticeably participated in leading the team to a runner-up and third place finish in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups respectively.
