ROBIN VAN PERSIE DOWN WITH UNKNOWN INJURY

Robin Van Persie missed out of the crucial match against Konyaspor in the Turkish super Ligue this weekend. The Ex-Arsenal striker didn’t prosecute the encounter as he was out due to an unknown injury. The Netherland International, who matched Thierry Henry’s 30 goals in one season record in the 2011/2012 at the Emirates, played full 90 minutes in the game against Osmanlispor in the same Super Lig.

Late last year, the center forward missed a match due to calf injury in the match against Gaziantepspor. He also missed the group A Europa league match against Celtic and the UEFA Champions League qualification game with Shakhtar Donesk where they lost by a whopping three-nil.

The Dutchman’s injury records are decent in the Turkish league compared to the stretch of matches he missed while in the English Premier League. The calf injury and this last unknown injury are the only two he has suffered form this season at the Turkish Super Ligue.

However, in the Turkiye Kupasi, he missed out twice in January this year due to an unknown injury and in the quarter finals first leg due to influenza last month. Still, he has played 40 matches in all competitions this season for the club scoring 15 goals

The loss to Konyaspor was devastating as they had lost the Europa round of 16 match against Braga at home by 4-1 on Match 17th. For Konyaspor, it was business as usual as they had not lost their last five games prior the match.

Fernarbahce are also widely rumored to be interested in Germain midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. The Turkish giant signed Robin Van Persie and Nani last summer and are willing to boost the midfield with the signing this summer. The German international is struggling at The Red Devils aside contending with series of injuries.
